2023 ATP Finals Betting Tips

ATP Finals Preview

A highly entertaining season of tennis on the ATP tour comes to a close this month with the return of the prestigious ATP Finals, which once again take place at Pala Alpitour in Turin.

With the line-up confirmed and the draw concluded, it will soon be time for the world's best eight male players to take to the courts and battle it out for world supremacy.

From Carlos Alcaraz to Novak Djokovic, the end-of-season event should not disappoint and here is a look at how the action could unfold.

Tip 1 - Daniil Medvedev to win ATP Finals

When looking to pick out a winner at the 2023 ATP Finals, many will gravitate towards top two seeds Novak Djokovic and Carlos Alcaraz and that is understandable.

The pair tied on the most tournament titles on the ATP Tour this season (both six) and took their rivalry to the next level, ultimately clashing in a five-set epic in this year's Wimbledon final.

But bizarrely it is not always the players who have performed the best throughout the year who excel at the ATP Finals.

Indeed in the 2022 edition of the tournament, four of the top five seeds at the event failed to make it beyond the group stage.

And although there was a sense of inevitability about Djokovic winning the title on that occasion, Casper Ruud impressed by making the final and Taylor Fritz, the lowest-ranked player in the tournament, made the semi-finals.

With that in mind, those lower down the pecking order should not be ruled out and third seed Daniil Medvedev could be a serious threat.

It has been an impressive season from Medvedev, who has won 64 of his 80 matches, claiming five titles in the process.

He was particularly dangerous in the early stages of the season, reaching five finals and claiming four of his titles between February and April.

He was also a finalist at the US Open and reached ATP 500 finals in both Beijing and Vienna more recently.

And while last year's ATP Finals campaign ended with a 0-3 win-loss record, that could largely be attributed to Medvedev struggling to handle the weight of expectation after reaching the final in 2021.

There is not as much expectation on his shoulders this time around and he could be ready to go the distance.

Tip 2 - Andrey Rublev to win ATP Finals

Fifth seed Andrey Rublev could also be in for a good ATP Finals in Turin.

Rublev was one of the surprise packages in the event last year, finishing above Stefanos Tsitsipas and Medvedev in the Red Group.

He lost in the semi-finals to Ruud but it was a decent performance from Rublev, who matched or bettered his best performances at the Australian Open, Wimbledon and the US Open this season.

More recently, he made an impact at the Paris Masters earlier this month, reaching the event's semi-finals in which he took a one-set lead against top seed Djokovic.

Rublev also made the last four at the Vienna Open and heads to the ATP Finals in Turin with a point to prove so do not rule him out of the running.
