Six Nations: Round 4 Betting Tips

With another fallow weekend behind us, the 2025 Six Nations action resumes on Saturday for a crucial fourth round of fixtures.

This weekend's matches could prove pivotal in determining the outcome of the championship, with France bidding to halt Ireland’s quest for the Grand Slam.

The biggest game of the year so far takes place in Dublin on Saturday, with France looking to claim only a second win on Irish soil since 2011.

That titanic tussle will be followed by Scotland’s clash with winless Wales at Murrayfield and the round concludes on Sunday with England welcoming Italy to Twickenham.

Tip 1 - Ireland -1.5 handicap @ 17/20

The highlight of the round sees Ireland, the only undefeated team in the tournament, host France at the Aviva Stadium.

It promises to be a special occasion because of what is riding on the game and the fact that it could be the last runout at Dublin for three Irish greats - Peter O'Mahony, Cian Healy, and Conor Murray.

Garry Ringrose sits this one out because of his red card-worthy tackle on Ben Thomas against Wales, but Caelan Doris and Ronan Kelleher will strengthen Ireland’s pack on their return from injury.

Ireland are more inclined to kick the ball deep and disrupt their opponents this year, which will be a brave tactic if repeated against the always dangerous French.

Simon Easterby’s men will also want to avoid being caught up in a set-piece battle with France having the highest lineout success rate of any team this year, while Ireland have the worst scrum success rate.

But they can still get the job done as long as they keep mercurial Les Bleus captain Antoine Dupont quiet as he resumes his half-back partnership with Romain Ntamack after the outside-half’s ban.

Tip 2 - Scotland to beat Wales by 11-20 Points @ 47/20

Winning is all that matters at Murrayfield as Scotland attempt to bounce back from consecutive losses to Ireland and England, while pride is again at stake for Wales, who are looking to avoid another wooden spoon.

Matt Sherratt’s men will travel to Edinburgh without British and Irish Lions wing Josh Adams, who is still out with a hamstring injury, but experienced fly-half Gareth Anscombe has been passed fit after recovering from a head knock sustained against Ireland.

Gregor Townsend’s side started the tournament strongly with a bonus-point win against Italy before faltering, and he will be encouraging his men to play their free-flowing, attacking rugby once more.

They can pile more misery onto Welsh rugby if they execute their plans well, leading to the prospect of Scotland winning by a similar margin to their 31-19 triumph over the Azzurri in the opening round.

Tip 3 - England -22.5 handicap @ 17/20

England hosts Italy at Twickenham on Sunday, looking to build on their narrow 16-15 victory over Scotland last month.

Italy, despite showing promise in recent years, have struggled to maintain consistency in this tournament and are licking their wounds after a 24-73 home loss to France.

England are the only side to hold a 100% win rate against another team in the Championship, having won all 25 of their Six Nations clashes with the Azzurri.

That is a psychological barrier that the visitors, in their current state, are unlikely to overcome this time, with Steve Borthwick’s side demonstrating the tactical flexibility to flummox their opponents once more.
