NFL Week Four Tips & Predictions
There were more thrills and spills in the last round of fixtures in the NFL, as underdogs continue to cause major upsets in this fledgling stage of the new season.
As we prepare for more drama and intrigue in Week 4, here are our best bets for the weekend's slate of games.
Tip 1: Philadelphia Eagles -3 @ 26/25
The Philadelphia Eagles caused an upset with a 15-12 victory at the New Orleans Saints last week and will now have the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in their sights with revenge on the agenda this Sunday.
Philly's trip to Raymond James Stadium last season came in the first round of the playoffs, with the Eagles slumping to a 32-9 defeat to end their Super Bowl dreams.
The Eagles seem to have made progress since that loss and, were it not for some poor game management late on against the Atlanta Falcons, Nick Sirianni's side should be 3-0 going into this game.
Philadelphia next face a Buccaneers outfit that suffered a shock 26-7 defeat to the Denver Broncos last time out.
With running back Sequon Barkley enjoying a flying start to the season, the Eagles look capable of falling on the right side of the handicap against the Buccaneers, who collapsed against the Broncos.
Tip 2: Over 43.5 total points in Green Bay Packers v Minnesota Vikings @ 10/11
Bragging rights are at stake when NFC North rivals the Green Bay Packers and Minnesota Vikings go head-to-head at Lambeau Field.
First-choice quarterbacks Sam Darnold and Jordan Love are both rated as questionable for Sunday's showdown in Green Bay.
Even if the pair are missing, it looks like a high-scoring game can still take place in this northern grudge match.
Going with over 43.5 total points would have landed three times in the last four meetings between these rivals at Lambeau Field.
Given how these offences have been playing at the start of this season, we expect over 43.5 total points to come in again in the NFC North showdown.
Tip 3: Over 46.5 total points in Baltimore Ravens v Buffalo Bills @ 19/20
Creeping into the early hours of Monday morning, arguably the pick of the Week 4 games takes place at M&T Bank Stadium as the Baltimore Ravens host the Buffalo Bills.
The game sees two of the best quarterbacks in the NFL go head-to-head, with Lamar Jackson facing off against Josh Allen.
Allen has guided the Bills to a 3-0 start to the season, with Buffalo putting up big scores against the Arizona Cardinals, Miami Dolphins and the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Scoring 112 across those first three games, at an average of just over 37 points a game, going for over 46.5 total points looks to be the play here.
Baltimore tallying 28 points last time out in a win at the Dallas Cowboys adds further cause to expect a high-scoring shootout in Baltimore here.
