NFL - Week 9 Betting Tips & Predictions
The 2024 NFL season has reached Week 9 and the Kansas City Chiefs remain the only unbeaten team in the league as they look to defend their Super Bowl crown.
Elsewhere in the AFC, the Buffalo Bills, Pittsburgh Steelers, and Houston Texans have impressed, while the Washington Commanders, Detroit Lions and Green Bay Packers have caught the eye in the NFC.
We've looked at the weekend coupon and found three standout bets from the Week 9 action.
Tip 1 - Houston Texans Money Line vs New York Jets @ 26/25
The New York Jets' season is now practically over after they fell to 2-6 after last week's 25-22 defeat to the New England Patriots.
The Pats are expected to be one of the worst teams in the NFL this season, yet the Jets find themselves bottom of the AFC East.
Robert Saleh started the season as the Jets head coach but he was fired earlier this month, however, that decision has not improved matters and the Jets have now lost five games in a row.
Houston have a 6-2 record after another nail-biting win over AFC South rivals, Indianapolis Colts and with C.J. Stroud under centre, the Texans have one of the best quarterbacks in the game.
The Texans do have several injuries to deal with at wide receiver, but the Jets players cannot seem to do any of the basics right, so the away win looks huge value.
Tip 2 - Arizona Cardinals Money Line vs Chicago Bears @ 10/11
After their Bye in Week 7, the Chicago Bears looked a little lost on offence in their 18-15 defeat to the Washington Commanders.
While it took a Hail Mary from the Commanders to win, the Bears did not rack up 100 yards of offence until the third quarter.
Chicago's red zone defence kept the scoreline respectable, but overall the Bears showed that their Bye was detrimental to their progress.
The Cardinals should punish them this week, with Arizona 4-4 for the season. Their defeats have come to the Bills, Lions, Commanders and Packers, and all of those teams look like they will make the play-offs.
Arizona's quarterback play is better than Chicago's and they look primed to punish rookie quarterback Caleb Williams of the Bears.
Tip 3 - Indianapolis Colts +5 vs Minnesota Vikings @ 10/11
The Colts have decided to drop QB Anthony Richardson after some poor performances and perhaps a lack of desire to dig in when the going gets tough.
Veteran Joe Flacco will step in and he has impressed when doing so already this season.
Flacco will have no issue handling the Minnesota crowd and the Vikings have lost left tackle Christian Darrisaw for the rest of the season.
That is a huge blow for an offensive line that has kept Sam Darnold upright and, while the Vikings may have too much quality, they will not blow the Colts out of the water.
Flacco's introduction into the team should bring the best out of Josh Downs and Jonathan Taylor, so this game could go down to the wire.
