Cheltenham Gold Cup Tips & Predictions
The biggest highlight of the Cheltenham Festival and the national hunt season as a whole is the Cheltenham Gold Cup. Run on the festival's final day, it brings the curtain down on the greatest show on turf and gives online betting punters one last chance to place a bet on a Grade one race.
Here at Bet UK, we'll have all of the UK horse racing betting odds in the build-up to the Cheltenham Festival, including horse racing markets for the Champion Chase and the Stayers Hurdle. So whether you're betting on the ante-post favourite or you're waiting until race day, we've got you covered.
Day Four: Cheltenham Gold Cup (Grade 1, 3m2½f)
Held annually on the closing day of the Cheltenham Festival, the Gold Cup is not only the highlight race of the week but also the UK horse racing calendar. Contested over three miles, it takes in 22 fences and is run on the new course at Cheltenham. Open to horses who are aged five years and over, many winners of the King George VI Chase at Kempton make this race the next on their agenda.
Cheltenham Gold Cup Race Winner Tips
In our Bet UK Cheltenham Festival build-up, we'll be offering Cheltenham Tips for all of the featured races, including the Queen Mother Champion Chase, Stayers Hurdle, Supreme Novices Hurdle and of course, The Gold Cup.
The Gold Cup is the standout race of the week and a highlight of the jump season.
Galopin Des Champs is the current favourite for the Gold Cup having won the previous two races in 2024 and 2023. Galopin Des Champs' previous experience, as well as recent results at Leopardstown, make the Willie Mullins-backed runner the one to beat to the post.
Back in December, Banbridge won the 3m King George VI Chase on Boxing Day, making a case for the runner in the Gold Cup, so long as the extra distance of the race doesn’t prove to be too much of a hurdle.
If you’re considering an each-way bet, Monty’s Star might be an option for a placement, considering the result at Tranmore on New Year’s Day, a race that would provide an indication of Monty’s Star’s challenge in the Gold Cup.
