RBC Heritage Betting Tips

The PGA Tour moves swiftly on from Georgia to South Carolina for this week's RBC Heritage, the fifth Signature Event of the season that rewards the winner with a cheque for $3.6million.

Despite Masters winner Rory McIlroy electing to swerve this trip to Harbour Town Golf Links, a stellar field will be battling it out for glory in the no-cut event at Hilton Head Island.

Current favourites to win the RBC Heritage:

  • Scottie Scheffler @ 4/1
  • Collin Morikawa @ 9/1
  • Ludvig Aberg @ 12/1
  • Patrick Cantlay @ 14/1
  • Xander Schauffele @ 14/1

Tip 1 - MICHAEL KIM TO WIN AND EACH-WAY @ 70/1

Two areas have proven crucial to success at Harbour Town in recent years: strokes gained tee to green and scrambling, and one player who has impressed in those departments this season is Michael Kim.

World number 51 Kim is 10th in SG tee-to-green and eighth in scrambling, and those two facets of his game can help him land his first PGA Tour title since the 2018 John Deere Classic.

The 31-year-old American has turned up in some of the biggest events this season, notably taking a share of second in the Phoenix Open and finishing fourth at the Arnold Palmer Invitational.

Kim's RBC Heritage doesn't make for good reading, with a T76 on debut in 2016 his best effort, but his game looks to be in a good place, and he appears to have been underestimated in the betting.

Tip 2 - BRIAN HARMAN TO WIN AND EACH-WAY @ 66/1

Brian Harman returned to the winner's circle at the Texas Open a couple of weeks ago, his first title since clinching the 2023 Open Championship, and he looks a dangerous contender at big odds this week.

The 38-year-old American's approach play was brilliant when winning at TPC San Antonio. He ranked second in strokes gained approach, and a repeat of that display should get him in the mix.

Harman also has a solid record at Harbour Town, registering three top-10 finishes and two top-15 results, and that strong course form should stand him in good stead.

Tip 3 - SUNGJAE IM LEADER AFTER ROUND ONE - 35/1

South Korean Sungjae Im rounded off last week's Masters with a final round of 69, a score bettered by just five players on Sunday. He can take the positives from that finish into the Heritage.

The 27-year-old has got to grips with this event after missing the cut on his first two visits, with his next four cracks producing results of T13, T21, T7 and T12.

Sungjae shot a 66 on day one of the 2023 edition, leaving him three back of the early pace, and it would be no surprise to see him at the summit after the first 18 holes this year.
