3M Open Golf Tips
The sport of Golf rocks the twin cities of Minnesota as the 3m Open comes to town! This event was announced by the PGA Tour in 2018, so it sits as one of the newer events in the sport; however, with a prize pool of almost 8 million dollars available, it is a very profitable event for those who go on to win.
The 3m Open succeeded the 3M Championship which stood as a PGA Tour Champions event for over 25 years, Minnesota have hosted the event at the TPC Twin Cities since 2001 and that continues this year.
Following the popular Rocket Mortgage Classic, we have found the golfers who have performed well in that event, take that form into the 3M Open.

Tips for 3M Open Markets
Typically, we'll provide you with 3 tips in our Golf betting tips for the PGA Champions tour. However, if you're looking to place in play bets knowing that a player has missed the cut or a surprise package looks good going into the final round, you'll have a strong idea of who to bet on. Therefore, here are some of our tips for betting on the 3M Open.
Make the most of each way betting: It sounds incredibly simple but if you're backing a Golfer at odds of 10/1+, they aren't deemed as likely to win the event. They could be the top performer in the market but all that means is that it is a very unpredictable event, with each way betting, you'll have the ability to bet and be paid out if your Golfer finishes as the runner up or in the designated number of positions.
Top 10 betting could be the best bet: If a Golfer has one bad round, they're likely out of the running for the top spot. However, one incredible round could leave them in the top ten, 10th place in the 3M Open tends to finish around 9/10 strokes behind the eventual winner but it gives bettors a significantly better chance of having their bet last until the final putt. Top 10 betting may leave you with lower odds but you'll still find higher odds for this than you would your average football or tennis match.
2024 3M Open Course
Course: TPC Twin Cities, Blaine, Minnesota. Par 71, 7,450 Yards Purse: $7,800,000
The PGA Tour heads 25 miles north of the city of Minneapolis and to the Arnold Palmer-designed TPC Twin Cities this week for the third staging of the 3M Open, and the second at this venue. Toughened up two years ago under a Tom Lehman redesign, the course still remains a largely flat and unprotected parkland track where water hazards are in play on 10 holes but unlikely to affect the most in-form players this week.
Although the par 5s are long, there are three drivable par 4s, and this course has all the hallmarks of one that can be overpowered by the bigger hitters. The greens are large, fast and slopey, but on the whole, this is going to be a contest of who hits the longest drives and makes the largest footage of putts. Course similarities can be drawn with venues in Texas, and Palmer’s design at Bay Hill.
3M Open Previous Winners
Year | Winner | Score |
---|---|---|
2023: | Lee Hodges | -23 |
2022: | Tony Finau | -17 |
2021: | Cameron Champ | -15 |
2020: | Michael Thompson | -19 |
2019: | Matthew Wolff | -21 |
Matthew Wolff made history at the inaugural 3M Open, narrowly Bryson DeChambeau and Collin Morikawa to claim victory. Last year, Lee Hodges added his name to history with the events record score, besting his competition by seven strokes. Defending champion Tony Finau put up a fine score of -15 but on this occasion, very few would have bested the American Hodges who claimed his first PGA Tour win and what an occasion to do it.
