Premier League Matchday 9 Preview
nother Premier League weekend kicks off with four 3pm kick-offs on Saturdays, with champions Manchester City taking centre stage.
City are the only unbeaten side in the Premier League, but that honour is not enough for table-topping status, as Pep Guardiola's men go into their home meeting with Southampton trailing Liverpool by a point.
Liverpool face a daunting trip to Arsenal on Sunday, so City fans will be hopeful that their team will go into next week at the summit of the division. We have picked out the best bets for the weekend’s Premier League action.
Tip 1 - West Ham United to beat Manchester United @ 9/5
A Thursday night trip to Fenerbahce is far from ideal for Manchester United's chances of success away at West Ham on Sunday.
With such a short recovery time after such a demanding away night, the Red Devils will have every right to arrive at the London Stadium feeling weary.
The Irons have not played since last Saturday, so should take to the pitch bursting with zest.
The last time the Hammers played at home they thrashed Ipswich 4-1 and the Londoners can claim another three points against Erik ten Hag's vulnerable visitors.
Tip 2 - Everton v Fulham BTTS @ 7/10
Fulham have a cracking recent record at Goodison Park and will expect to get on the scoresheet there on Saturday evening.
The Cottagers have won each of their last three Premier League visits to Everton.
Both teams to score looks a solid investment. Everton and Fulham have just one clean sheet apiece in the Premier League this season.
The Toffees have failed to score only once in their last eight matches across all competitions, while the Cottagrs have scored in their last nine matches.
Tip 3 - Chelsea v Newcastle total goals 0-2 @ 6/4
Newcastle have scored a total of only three goals in their last five matches, drawing a blank in their last two, so the Magpies may not offer much of a threat to Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.
The 6/4 about there being zero, one or two goals in total in Chelsea versus Newcastle appears a healthy price given the lack of attacking confidence in the visiting camp.
The Blues may make a sluggish start to the contest, given that they were in Europa Conference League action on Thursday night away at Panathinaikos.
Tip 4 - Arsenal v Liverpool draw @ 23/10
The match of the weekend takes place at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday, where Arsenal will be hoping get their title challenge back on track by beating Liverpool.
It seems a significant advantage for the Gunners that they had a home European fixture on Tuesday night, while Liverpool had to travel to Leipzig on Wednesday evening.
Arsenal have got serious injury and suspension issues, though, and a makeshift defence could prove vulnerable to Mo Salah.
Both sides may be happy to settle for a draw, which seems the most likely result.
