Premier League Matchday 28 Tips & Predictions

It’s Matchday 28 in the Premier League with key fixtures taking place up and down the country. Nottingham Forest host Manchester City on Saturday, while Manchester United welcome Arsenal to Old Trafford on Sunday. We have four selections to enhance the weekend’s top-flight action.

Manchester City to beat Nottingham Forest @ 22/25

Champions Manchester City won’t be retaining their Premier League crown this season, but Pep Guardiola’s men can strike a blow in the battle for a top-five finish when they head to Nottingham Forest on Saturday.

Clearly, the Citizens haven’t been at their peak this term, but they have still been able to beat Ipswich 6-0, Newcastle 4-0, West Ham 4-1 and Nottingham Forest 3-0 in the current campaign.

Guardiola took the opportunity to rest a host of his top performers for City’s FA Cup success over Plymouth last weekend, and that should serve as a major boost after their blank midweek given the injury problems which have plagued the Manchester men.

Forest have enjoyed an excellent campaign, but they have won only two of their last seven Premier League matches, and Nuno Espirito Santo’s men could suffer a second defeat of the season to the champions.

Bournemouth to beat Tottenham @ 13/8

Tottenham have been ravaged by injuries this season, but the games continue to come thick and fast and the fuel gauge could be running low once more when Bournemouth head to north London on Sunday.

Spurs put together back-to-back Premier League wins against Manchester United and Ipswich, but the victory over the Red Devils was extremely fortunate, and Ange Postecoglou’s men offered little when losing at home to Manchester City last weekend.

Tottenham don't have long to prepare for this match due to their visit to AZ Alkmaar on Thursday and that may present an opportunity for Bournemouth to strike.

Arsenal to beat Manchester United @ 3/4

Arsenal rate the best bet on the Matchday 28 coupon. The Gunners still have issues in attack with injuries to Gabriel Jesus, Gabriel Martinelli, Kai Havertz and Bukayo Saka, but Mikel Arteta’s men blasted seven goals past PSV in the Champions League on Tuesday night with six players getting on the scoresheet.

Ruben Amorim’s men will have to cope with only three days to recover following their Thursday night Europa League clash with Real Sociedad and the Red Devils have hardly been in flying form.

Arsenal shouldn’t have any problems asserting their superiority at Old Trafford.

West Ham to beat Newcastle @ 9/4

The Monday night game this week is a clash between West Ham and Newcastle and the Hammers look a decent bet to collect three points.

Newcastle have won only four of their last nine matches and two of those victories were against struggling Southampton and League One Birmingham.

Graham Potter’s reign at the London Stadium kicked into gear with a 1-0 success over Arsenal and the Hammers followed up when beating Leicester 2-0 last time out. West Ham look a little overpriced on Monday night.
