Premier League Betting Tips - Matchday 27

There’s a midweek treat with Matchday 27 of the Premier League season taking place on Tuesday and Wednesday evening.

The action is highlighted by Manchester City’s trip to Tottenham and Liverpool’s Anfield clash with Newcastle United.

We have four selections for what should be a cracking midweek of top-flight football.

Bet 1: Georginio Rutter to score first in Brighton v Bournemouth @ 13/2

Brighton have scored nine goals in their last three matches and Georginio Rutter has become the Seagulls’ chief threat.

The former Leeds forward has scored six goals in his last eight appearances for the south coast side and the 22-year-old was on target against Southampton last time out.

Rutter has had 46 shots in the Premier League this season (36 on target) and the Frenchman looks a decent bet to open the scoring against Bournemouth.

Bet 2: Crystal Palace to beat Aston Villa @ 31/20

Crystal Palace host Aston Villa at Selhurst Park on Tuesday night and the Eagles can fly high.

Oliver Glasner’s men impressed when beating Fulham 2-0 at Craven Cottage on Saturday and Palace didn’t allow the Cottagers a single shot on target in that contest.

The south Londoners were turned over by Everton, but the Eagles were the better side in that contest and it’s only two defeats in 11 games for Palace.

Villa have won only two of their last 11 away games and there are concerns for Unai Emeri’s men when they travel to Selhurst Park.

Tuesday night’s tie will be Villa's third match in six days and tough contests against Liverpool and Chelsea may have left their mark.

Bet 3 - Liverpool to score over 2.5 goals v Newcastle @ 6/5

Liverpool continued their march to the Premier League title with a dominant 2-0 victory against Manchester City at the Etihad on Sunday and the Reds can make light work of Newcastle at Anfield.

Arne Slot’s men have won 16 of their 19 all-competition home matches this season and they have all the tools to punish an overrated Newcastle side.

The Magpies held onto a 4-3 victory over Nottingham Forest, but that was another fortunate success, of which there have been several this season, while Eddie Howe’s men were hammered 4-0 at Manchester City in their latest Premier League away day.

Bet 4 - Tottenham to beat Manchester City @ 5/2

Champions Manchester City will surrender their Premier League crown come the end of the season and the Citizens have been unable to offer any real resistance.

It’s been a miserable campaign for Pep Guardiola’s men, which has seen them win only three of their last 15 away matches and there could be more pain when City head to north London to face Spurs on Wednesday.

City needed a big performance to turn around a 3-2 deficit against Real Madrid in the Champions League and the Citizens lost the second leg of that play-off tie 3-1.

Guardiola would have hoped for a reaction when the Citizens met Liverpool in the Premier League on Sunday, but the champions offered little fight in a 2-0 defeat.

Not only have City been unable to raise a big performance when it has been needed most, but the champions haven’t even been able to muster a defensively sound effort.

Tottenham have had their own issues this term, but Spurs have key players back from injury and Ange Postecoglou’s men look an excellent bet to down City on Wednesday night.
