Premier League Matchday 11 Preview
The final round of Premier League fixtures before the international break arrives this weekend and clubs across England’s top division will be hoping that they can head into the break on a high.
The pick of the weekend’s action arrives on Sunday as a stuttering Arsenal travel to Stamford Bridge to take on Chelsea in a London derby.
Reigning champions Manchester City, who have also suffered a downward turn in form, visit Brighton while league leaders Liverpool face a tricky meeting with Aston Villa in the late kick-off on Saturday.
We have picked out our best bets over the course of the weekend’s Premier League clashes, with the division’s surprise package tipped to continue their strong form.
Tip 1: Liverpool v Aston Villa - Liverpool to win and over 2.5 goals @ 7/10
Arne Slot’s Liverpool have been dominant in all competitions this season - avoiding defeat in each of their last 12 - and this unbeaten run should continue when they host an Aston Villa side that has lost each of their previous three matches.
Combining 2.5 goals with a Liverpool victory has won in each of the Reds’ last three, while each of Villa’s five league away matches this season have seen a minimum of three goals scored, so there could be a gluttony of goals at Anfield on Saturday night.
Tip 2: Chelsea v Arsenal - Chelsea to win @ 9/5
Arsenal’s title ambitions have taken a major hit in recent weeks, losing to both Bournemouth and Newcastle either side of a 2-2 draw at home to Liverpool.
Sadly for Gunners fans, Mikel Arteta’s men may be on the receiving end of another defeat when they visit in-form Chelsea.
The Blues have not tasted defeat at Stamford Bridge since their opening-day defeat to Manchester City and have lost just one of their last nine Premier League matches. This may be the best time for the Blues to face the Gunners, given Arsenal’s form and current injury issues.
Tip 3: Brighton v Manchester City - Brighton or draw double chance @ 21/20
Manchester City have been in uncharacteristically poor form lately and this winless run could be set to continue against a Brighton side that have impressed under Fabian Hurzeler and that have lost just once at the Amex Stadium all season.
The Cityzens suffered a shock 4-1 loss at Sporting in the Champions League in midweek, a result that made it three consecutive losses for Pep Guardiola’s men. They last lost three games in a row in the same season back in 2018, so the Seagulls will be eager to capitalise against the misfiring champions.
Tip 4: Nottingham Forest v Newcastle - Nottingham Forest to win @ 9/5 ](https://www.betuk.com/betting/football/england-premier-league/nottingham-forest#event/1021042528)
After five wins and just one defeat from their opening 10 matches, Nottingham Forest are third in the Premier League table and they could continue their stunning start to the campaign with a victory over Newcastle.
The Magpies have failed to win any of their last three matches away from St. James’ Park, while Forest are unbeaten in four, winning three, in a run that has included impressive results at Chelsea (1-1) and at home to West Ham (3-0).
