Norway vs Scotland Betting Tips

Scotland have made an impressive start to their Euro 2024 qualifying campaign and will be looking for more of the same when they travel to Oslo to face Norway on Saturday.

The Scots were expected to get the better of Cyprus in their opening game at Hampden Park and duly delivered with a 3-0 win in Glasgow. However, few would have anticipated Scotland beating the former World Cup and European Championship winners Spain in their following game.

A brace from Manchester United midfielder Scott McTominay helped Scotland secure one of their biggest scalps in recent memory and has provided a strong platform for the remainder of qualifying.

Tip 1 - Under 1.5 Goals @ 19/10

The next test for head coach Steve Clarke and his side is trying to pick up results on the road and it won’t be easy at Ullevaal Stadion this weekend.

Scotland’s away form has been found wanting, with just one win in their last five games on the road. With that in mind, Scotland are understandably the underdogs at 5/2 going into Saturday’s encounter in the Norwegian capital. Games between these sides have tended to be cagey affairs in the past, with Scotland winning their last meeting 1-0 in Molde back in 2013. Under 1.5 goals total goals would have landed in two of the last three encounters between these nations and is 19/10 to come in again on Saturday.

Tip 2 - Both Teams to Score - No @ 7/10

Easier said than done, but Scotland will need to try and make it a rare quiet night for Norwegian goal machine Erling Haaland if they are to come away from Oslo with a positive result.

The 22-year-old has enjoyed a remarkable season with Manchester City as he was a key figure in helping Pep Guardiola’s side win an historic treble.

Featuring in 53 games, it’s been a long season for the youngster as he heads into Saturday’s game against the Scots on the back of a Champions League final win over Inter Milan.

Going again after the high of the 1-0 victory over Inter in Istanbul and the celebrations that followed will be tough for Haaland. It’s a big ask for the former Borussia Dortmund star after a long club season and the Scots could have some joy in keeping him quiet at Ullevaal Stadion.

If they do that, that will go a long way to preventing Norway finding the back of the net while it may hamper their own chances should they set up defensively to counter Haaland’s threat.

Tip 3 - Correct Score 0-0 @ 8/1

Considering Scotland’s start to the qualifying campaign a draw in Oslo would be a good result for a team that has struggled on their travels. Keeping clean sheets in three of their last four games, Scotland’s defensive record has improved of late and they will try to make themselves tough to beat, especially with the threats of Martin Ødegaard and Haaland to contend with.

Considering Scotland’s defensive solidity, this potentially cagey affair could well end up in a goalless stalemate.

A 0-0 final score on Saturday evening, in what is expected to be played in hot 30-degree weather in Oslo, is available at an attractive 8/1.
