Scotland Betting Tips
Scotland are only getting better under Steve Clarke and the nation that lost 3-0 to Kazakhstan in 2019 are unrecognisable going in 2024. Qualification for back-to-back European Championships no easy feat but Scotland have managed it. They'll also managed to get positive results against Spain, England and the Netherlands in the space of 18 months.
How will the Scots perform in upcoming tournaments? That is a difficult question but we'll follow them all the way with our expert betting tips, starting with our European Championships tips.
Scotland European Championships Tips
Scotland Vs Georgia Tips
Georgia Vs Scotland Tips - 16/11/2023
Scotland have already wrapped up qualification for Euro 2024 but Steve Clarke’s side are still in a battle with Spain for top spot in Group A.
It has been a fantastic campaign for the Scots and they travel to Tbilisi to face Georgia knowing the Tartan Army will be on the plane to Germany next year.
Spain hold the advantage, when it comes to topping the group, given La Roja’s trip to Cyprus and home tie against Georgia look marginally easier fixtures than Scotland’s trip to Georgia and the Hampden Park clash with Norway, but Clarke will no doubt be pushing for a positive end to the campaign.
Scotland were beaten by Spain in their latest Euro 2024 qualifier and there have been friendly defeats to England and France either side, but they have been tough fixtures and the Tartan Army will be looking to get back to winning ways.
Bet on European Championship fixtures
Tip 1: Over 2.5 goals @ 21/20
Scotland are 21/20 shots to win in Georgia, and although Clarke’s men look to hold a fair chance of victory in Tbilisi, the price should be approached with caution.
The Tartan Army are missing a whole host of players for Thursday’s clash and that could have an impact on the outcome of the contest.
Andy Robertson, Aaron Hickey, John Souttar and Kieran Tierney are all missing from the Scotland rearguard and the attack is also hampered by the absence of Kevin Nisbit and Che Adams. Clarke should be able to make do without Nisbit and Adams, but the quartet of defensive injuries looks a big worry.
Scotland were unfortunate to have a goal ruled out in their last Euro 2024 qualifier against Spain, but Clarke’s men still conceded twice and they shipped seven strikes combined in friendlies against England and France either side of the defeat in Seville.
Georgia carry plenty of attacking threat and the Crusaders have scored in five of their six qualifying matches. Willy Sagnol’s men put four past Cyprus last time out and prior to that hammered Thailand 8-0 in a friendly.
The fact that the Crusaders have little riding on this match, given they have already achieved a play-off spot via the Nations League, tempers enthusiasm when it comes to the betting, but they certainly look capable of contributing to a high-scoring contest.

Tip 2: Draw and both teams to score @ 18/5
The selection issues faced by Clarke make it easy enough to oppose Scotland at 21/20, and with a question mark over Georgia’s motivation, the draw looks like a big runner.
At 16/5, it could prove prudent to take a punt on both teams scoring and the game ending in a stalemate.
That would cover 1-1, 2-2 and 3-3 scorelines, and while a repeat of Sunday’s 4-4 score between Chelsea and Manchester City looks an unlikely way to win, the 1-1 and 2-2 options look to have a big chance of copping.

WHAT DID WE TIP FOR THEIR LAST ENCOUNTER?
Last time out when these two sides faced off, this is what we tipped.
The top two in Euro 2024 qualifying Group A will meet at Hampden Park on Tuesday as Scotland and Georgia look to further boost their chances of qualifying for next summer's finals in Germany.
Scotland have won their opening three matches to top the section, including following up a 2-0 victory over Spain in March with a come-from-behind 2-1 success in Norway last time out.
Georgia are five points behind Steve Clarke's side in second, but are also unbeaten after following up a home draw with Norway by winning in Cyprus on Saturday.
With both sides also having the security of a playoff place already wrapped up by virtue of their performances in the UEFA Nations League, confidence should be high heading into Tuesday's encounter in Glasgow.
Tip 1 - Scotland to win by a one-goal margin @ 9/4
Not many people would have expected for Scotland and Georgia to be occupying the top two positions in qualifying Group A, but both sides merit their lofty standing, with the Scots having lost just one of their last nine internationals, while Tuesday's visitors have suffered just one defeat in 15.
Both nations will be hopeful of extending those impressive records, but home advantage should certainly give Scotland the edge considering the Tartan Army have won five-straight matches on home soil, beating the likes of Spain and Ukraine during that time.
All four previous meetings between these two sides have also ended in victory for the home team - two wins for Scotland and two for Georgia - with three of those successes being secured by a one-goal margin. A repeat outcome on Tuesday appears probable.
Tip 2 - Draw/Scotland - Half-Time/Full-Time @ 3/1
There has been very little between these two sides when they have met in the past, with matches tending to remain tight throughout, which means Scotland may have to be patient to claim victory on Tuesday.
It would be no surprise if the match was still level at half-time, but that won't panic a Scotland team that have scored five of their seven goals during qualifying after the interval.
Georgia were level with Cyprus at the break during their most recent qualifier before going on to win that match, a similar pattern could unfold this time around, but on this occasion the result may not go the way of Willy Sagnol's side.
Tip 3 - Scotland 1-0 @ 9/2
The last time Scotland played host to Georgia it ended in a 1-0 victory for Gordon Strachan's then side in September 2015, with Akaki Khubutia's own goal proving the difference between the two sides that day.
Both nations have improved since then and Scotland have shown they have plenty of attacking threat, scoring twice against both Spain and Norway during this qualifying campaign.
However, after their exploits in Oslo on Saturday, this may be a case of after the Lord Mayor's Show for Clarke and his team, which means a more agricultural victory could be on the cards.
Each of the last two meetings between these two teams have ended in a 1-0 win for the home side. Scotland supporters would likely take that scoreline now as they aim to make it four wins from four in the group.
Scotland Vs Cyprus Tips
Cyprus v Scotland Betting Tips
Scotland are on course to qualify for next summer’s Euro 2024 and can move within touching distance when they visit Cyprus on Friday.
The hosts are rock bottom of Group A after losing their first three games while Steve Clarke’s side are riding high in first place after winning all of their opening four qualifiers.
Bet on European Championship fixtures
Tip 1 - Scotland and under 3.5 goals @ 22/25
It was a rainy afternoon in Glasgow when Scotland beat Cyprus 3-0 in March and the conditions could have an even bigger say in the return fixture.
Temperatures are expected to reach 38 degrees on the day of the match, and while they may have subdued somewhat by the time kick-off comes around, it will still be a sweltering clash.
The heat could slow down the pace of the game and lead to a lower-scoring affair than expected.
Cyprus have conceded eight goals in their three defeats and a 2-1 home loss at the hands of Georgia in June was a hammer blow to their chances of qualification.
The hosts have shown little in this group and look likely to fall to another defeat in this clash.
However Scotland know that realistically they need only the three points to move closer to qualification, with goal difference unlikely to be a factor in the section.
The combination of the conditions and Cyprus being unlikely to cause the visitors too many issues, means Scotland to win and under 3.5 goals is the pick.
Tip 2 - John McGinn to score anytime @ 2/1
John McGinn has been playing as part of a two-man strike partnership for his country recently.
Steve Clarke’s preference for a 3-5-2 system and the imbalance of Scotland’s squad, which has plenty of quality central midfielders but lacks top-level forwards, has freed the Aston Villa man up for a more attacking role.
The 28-year-old has already opened his account in the Premier League and has 16 goals for the Tartan Army in 56 games.
McGinn will be a major part of any attacking success the visitors have and is a tempting price to get on the scoresheet.

Tip 3 - Over 7.5 Scotland corners @ 13/8
This Euro 2024 qualifying campaign for Scotland has been typified by a ruthlessness against teams they have been expected to beat.
Steve Clarke’s side have seen off Cyprus and Georgia by an aggregate score of 5-0, conceding just two shots on target across those games.
The Tartan Army have also racked up the corner count in those two games, another sign of a dominant team.
The table toppers managed at least eight corners in both matches and are fancied to make it three from three in this return fixture against Cyprus.
Clarke’s men have plenty of aerial threat and could also be looking at set pieces as a route to exploit their hosts so take them to have over 7.5 corners.

WHAT DID WE TIP LAST TIME OUT?
After missing out on the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, Scotland quickly switched their focus to reaching Euro 2024 and they will be hoping to kick-start their qualifying campaign on Saturday against Cyprus.
In a Euro 2024 qualifying group that also includes the likes of Spain, Norway and Georgia, Scotland can’t really afford any mistakes in this opening game at Hampden Park.
Cyprus have made life tricky for the Scots in the past and the hosts will need to be on their mettle to make sure they come away with the spoils this weekend.
Tip 1: Scotland to win and both teams to score @ 47/20
Scotland boss Steve Clarke has enjoyed some memorable moments in his time as the national coach, with the highlight being qualification for the last European Championships which took place in 2021.
Since then it was disappointing for the Tartan Army to miss out on the World Cup Qatar over the winter but there have been positive signs that they can work their way back to another major tournament.
Scotland’s home form in the Nations League has been strong as they get set to welcome Cyprus to Hampden this weekend.
The Scots have won all of their last three games at Hampden, beating the likes of Armenia, Ukraine and the Republic of Ireland.
Scotland have now only lost two of their last 17 outings on home soil and Clarke’s side are understandably the firm favourites at 1/5 in the betting to claim the three points this weekend against Cyprus.
The Scots’ defence is far from watertight with just the two clean sheets in their last six outings and the visitors might well have their moments in the contest on Saturday.
With that in mind, a Scotland victory on home soil and both teams to get on the scoresheet in an exciting game is available at 47/20.
Tip 2: Over 2.5 Total Goals @ 4/6
With Scotland’s improvements in the final third and their shortcomings at times at the back, goals might well be on the cards in this one.
The likes of Southampton’s Che Adams and Queens Park Rangers forward Lyndon Dykes have offered Scotland more firepower in their most recent outings and they will be ones to look out for on Saturday.
Over 2.5 total goals in a game would have landed in five of Scotland’s last six matches, while 13 goals were scored over Cyprus' last three outings.
The Cypriots most recent match was back in November last year when they earned a 3-2 win on the road against Israel at HaMoshava Stadium.
Expect Cyprus to create chances in this encounter and over 2.5 total goals in this game on Saturday comes in at 4/6.
Tip 3: Scotland to win 2-1 @ 8.50/1
When it comes to the last four meetings between these nations, the scorelines have all finished 2-1 in Scotland’s favour.
A repeat of that scoreline is not beyond the realms of possibility and Scotland to come out on top 2-1 this weekend in Glasgow is available at 8.50/1.
Norway Vs Scotland Tips
Norway vs Scotland Betting Tips
Scotland have made an impressive start to their Euro 2024 qualifying campaign and will be looking for more of the same when they travel to Oslo to face Norway on Saturday.
The Scots were expected to get the better of Cyprus in their opening game at Hampden Park and duly delivered with a 3-0 win in Glasgow. However, few would have anticipated Scotland beating the former World Cup and European Championship winners Spain in their following game.
A brace from Manchester United midfielder Scott McTominay helped Scotland secure one of their biggest scalps in recent memory and has provided a strong platform for the remainder of qualifying.
Bet on European Championship fixtures
Tip 1 - Under 1.5 Goals @ 19/10
The next test for head coach Steve Clarke and his side is trying to pick up results on the road and it won’t be easy at Ullevaal Stadion this weekend.
Scotland’s away form has been found wanting, with just one win in their last five games on the road. With that in mind, Scotland are understandably the underdogs at 5/2 going into Saturday’s encounter in the Norwegian capital. Games between these sides have tended to be cagey affairs in the past, with Scotland winning their last meeting 1-0 in Molde back in 2013. Under 1.5 goals total goals would have landed in two of the last three encounters between these nations and is 19/10 to come in again on Saturday.
Tip 2 - Both Teams to Score - No @ 7/10
Easier said than done, but Scotland will need to try and make it a rare quiet night for Norwegian goal machine Erling Haaland if they are to come away from Oslo with a positive result.
The 22-year-old has enjoyed a remarkable season with Manchester City as he was a key figure in helping Pep Guardiola’s side win an historic treble.
Featuring in 53 games, it’s been a long season for the youngster as he heads into Saturday’s game against the Scots on the back of a Champions League final win over Inter Milan.
Going again after the high of the 1-0 victory over Inter in Istanbul and the celebrations that followed will be tough for Haaland. It’s a big ask for the former Borussia Dortmund star after a long club season and the Scots could have some joy in keeping him quiet at Ullevaal Stadion.
If they do that, that will go a long way to preventing Norway finding the back of the net while it may hamper their own chances should they set up defensively to counter Haaland’s threat.

Tip 3 - Correct Score 0-0 @ 8/1
Considering Scotland’s start to the qualifying campaign a draw in Oslo would be a good result for a team that has struggled on their travels. Keeping clean sheets in three of their last four games, Scotland’s defensive record has improved of late and they will try to make themselves tough to beat, especially with the threats of Martin Ødegaard and Haaland to contend with.
Considering Scotland’s defensive solidity, this potentially cagey affair could well end up in a goalless stalemate.
A 0-0 final score on Saturday evening, in what is expected to be played in hot 30-degree weather in Oslo, is available at an attractive 8/1.

Scotland Vs Spain Tips
Scotland Vs Spain Betting Tips
A 3-0 win over Cyprus saw Scotland get a European Championship qualifying campaign off to a winning start for the first time since 2006 and sets them up nicely for the visit of Spain to Hampden Park on Tuesday.
John McGinn’s 16th international goal and a brace from substitute Scott McTominay made it four straight home wins for Steve Clarke’s side, who are likely playing for second spot in their qualifying group, behind Spain, in a section also containing Georgia and Norway. A new-look Spain side, now under the guidance of Luis de la Fuente, also started out on the road to Germany 2024 with a 3-0 success at home to an Erling Haaland-less Norway.
That win means La Roja have now lost just one of their last 38 Euro qualifiers and Scotland’s task is a sizeable one, even with their recent good run of form.
Bet on European Championship fixtures
Tip 1: Draw - Half-Time @ 23/20
Scotland haven’t beaten Spain since 1984 and ending that streak ultimately may prove beyond the home side. However, they can certainly frustrate a transitioning Spain team and are likely to still be in the game at the half-time interval.
Both sides grabbed an early goal in their opening qualifiers but struggled to press home their advantage until the final ten minutes. A slightly disjointed display from Spain had been expected with de la Fuente trying to make some big changes to the national side.
De la Fuente is attempting to implement a new style of play with Spain, adapting Luis Enrique’s possession-based approach to be more direct, as well as overhauling the squad, calling up 13 players who didn’t go to the Qatar World Cup in his first squad.
It’s certainly not a Spain side firing on all cylinders and they may take a while to work out a Scotland team playing with confidence after Saturday’s win over Cyprus, following a strong Nations League campaign.
Tip 2: Iago Aspas To Score At Any Time @ 7/4
Celta Vigo forward Iago Aspas is amongst the players returning from the international wilderness under de la Fuente and received his first cap in four years in the win over Norway.
The 35-year-old may have failed to add to his tally of six international goals at the weekend but it might be worth taking a chance on him netting at Hampden Park if he keeps his place in the starting line-up.
Aspas has netted 12 goals in La Liga this season, including three in his last two outings for Celta before the international break.

Tip 3: John McGinn Over 1.5 Shots @ 37/20
John McGinn moved into the top seven of Scotland’s all-time scorers with his 16th goal for Scotland against Cyprus and should continue to chance his arm on Tuesday.
With first-choice striker Che Adams out through injury, a lot of the threat could come from McGinn, who plays in a more advanced role for his country than he does at club side Aston Villa.
The 28-year-old averaged over three shots per game during last year’s Nations League, while he was letting fly on average over twice per match during Scotland’s last European Championship qualifying campaign.
Scotland UEFA Nations League Tips
For the first time in history, Scotland have been promoted to League A of the UEFA Nations League, meaning it is statistically possible for them to win the trophy for the first time, doing so would seemingly be impossible, with relegation back to League B the most likely scenario but Scotland have defied the odds before, could they do so on a wider scale? Find out our thoughts in our UEFA Nations League tips for Scotland.
Scotland Vs Republic Of Ireland Tips
Scotland Vs Republic Of Ireland Betting Tips
The Republic's revolution under Stephen Kenny has still to really ignite. There's no doubt the generation coming through have talent but that is yet to be matched by results.
March's 2-2 draw with Belgium and the follow-up 1-0 win over Lithuania extended their unbeaten run to eight games but they look to have gone backwards after their Nations League Group B1 losses to Armenia and Ukraine.
Both were by 1-0 scorelines and not for the first time, a lack of genuine threat up front is haunting the Boys in Green.
They need to kickstart their campaign and welcome Scotland to the Aviva on Saturday at 17:00.
Betting on the UEFA Nations League
Tip 1: Under 2.5 Goals
Steve Clarke's side lost 3-1 to Ukraine to miss out on a first World Cup since 1998 but bounced back on Wednesday with their 2-0 victory over Armenia.
Both goals in that midweek victory came via headers from defenders, Anthony Ralston and Scott McKenna, respectively, but they may not have the same joy in the air against the Irish, with the likes of Shane Duffy and Nathan Collins expected to start for the hosts.
A look back at previous games shows that these two usually keep it tight and cancelling each other out from set-pieces may prove to be a factor.
Don’t expect too many goals as under 2.5 goals has occurred in the last five meetings between these teams. That said, missing out on Qatar 2022 may have galvanised the Scots and with their greater firepower, they could just nick it against their goal-shy hosts.
Tip 2: Scotland to win 1-0

Scotland v Ukraine Tips
With the World Cup in Scotland's sights, they take on Ukraine in the World Cup Play-off with a final fixture against Wales awaiting either side. Both sides have raging emotions from their fans behind them but on this occasion, one set of fans will be left disappointed, which nation will that be? We're not far off finding out.
Cardiff trip the prize as Scots face Ukraine
With one place still up for grabs for a European nation for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, Scotland welcome Ukraine to Hampden Park in the playoffs on Wednesday night.
With Wales lying in wait to face the winner in an all-or-nothing showdown in Cardiff on Sunday, both the Scots and Ukrainians will be determined to take another step closer to achieving their World Cup dream.
Scots eager to build on Euros experience
Having finally ended their wait for major tournament football by reaching the European Championships last year, Scotland will be determined to land their first place at a World Cup since 1998.
Unbeaten in their last eight games, manager Steve Clarke has overseen a positive run of form for the Scots that has taken them to this position in the playoffs.
Clarke has been able to call upon the majority of his squad for the encounter in Glasgow, although Rangers midfielder Ryan Jack was ruled out through injury.
Looking back at Euro 2021, a goalless draw with eventual finalists England was all Scotland had to show for their efforts at the major tournament.
Ukraine managed to reach the quarter-finals of that European Championship and Clarke’s side will be fully aware of the size of the challenge on Wednesday.
Ukraine looking to bring a glimmer of joy
Amid the ongoing hardship back in Ukraine, the national side will be hoping to give those back home something to cheer about when they take the field in Glasgow.
Much of the squad has been together since the start of the month at a training camp in Brdo, near the Slovenian capital Ljubljana.
Playing friendlies against club sides from Germany, Italy and Croatia has been key to Ukraine’s preparations for their game against the Scots.
Head coach Oleksandr Petrakov was the man tasked with trying to get Ukraine back to their first World Cup finals since they reached the quarter-finals of the tournament in Germany back in 2006.
It certainly won’t be easy to get past the Scots on their own patch, with Scotland only losing one of their 13 games on home turf.
But with the time the squad have had in preparation and most of the world’s football public behind them, Ukraine will be looking to take that step closer to reaching this winter’s World Cup.
Little to read from history books
Looking back at the previous meetings between these two nations, there have been only two encounters, with each country winning a game each.
The last meeting came back in 2007, as goals from Kenny Miller, Lee McCulloch and James McFadden got their names on the scoresheet in a 3-1 Scotland victory.
Ukrainian legend Andrei Shevchenko was the man to get on the scoresheet for the visitors that day at Hampden Park.
Wednesday provides Scotland and Ukraine the chance to update the history books and for the winner, it will be full steam ahead to Cardiff on Sunday.
