Euro 2024 Daily Accumulator: 26/06/2024
It’s showtime on Wednesday evening with two Euro 2024 groups played to a conclusion.
Group E stands with Belgium, Romania, Slovakia and Ukraine all tied on three points and the final round of fixtures promises to deliver no end of drama.
Portugal have already booked top spot in Group F, but Turkey, Czech Republic and Georgia are battling it out for a place in the last-16.
We have selections in three of Wednesday's matches to form a treble, which pays 14/1.
Ukraine/draw double chance v Belgium @ 11/10
Belgium were under pressure to record a victory against Romania and the Red Devils duly delivered a 2-0 win. However, that wasn’t a contest without concern and Domenico Tedesco’s side conceded 14 shots on goal to Romania.
The Tricolours didn’t have the composure to take their chances and make Belgium pay, but Ukraine may not be quite as charitable.
The Red Devils are likely to field a defence containing Wout Faes, Arthur Theate and a 37-year-old Jan Vertonghen and it’s not difficult to think the pace and quality of Artem Dovbyk, Mykhailo Mudryk and Viktor Tsyhankov can have some joy against that rearguard.
The Blue and Yellow can take confidence from a 2-1 victory over Solvakia, where they dominated the second half, so backing Ukraine and the draw on the double chance looks like a play.
Turkey to beat Czech Republic @ 9/5
At 9/5 there is enough to chance the best version of Turkey showing up against the Czech Republic.
The Crescent-Stars looked good when hammering Georgia 3-1 in their opening group-stage contest, before the tables turned in a 3-0 defeat to Portugal.
However, Vincenzo Montella’s men gifted the game to the Selecao following a crazy own goal, and Turkey didn’t had much of a chance to show what they can do in that contest.
The Czechs huffed and puffed in a 1-1 draw with Georgia last time out, but they couldn’t make their chances count, and the conversion rate is unlikely to improve, with key forward Patrik Schick missing on Thursday.
Georgia v Portugal under 2.5 goals @ 31/20
It’s highly likely that Georgia will have to beat Portugal to qualify for the knockout stages of Euro 2024, but the Crusaders may lack the quality to break down the richly talented Selecao.
Roberto Martinez is expected to make use of his squad, given that Portugal are already assured of top spot in Group F, but even a second string line-up is likely to dominate an outclassed Georgia side.
However, there is likely to be a drop off in motivation and intensity from Portugal and going under 2.5 goals in Gelsenkirchen looks the play.
