Euro 2024 Daily Accumulator: 18/06/2024
Group F joins the Euro 2024 party on Tuesday with Turkey taking on Georgia and Portugal meeting the Czech Republic in Leipzig.
Portugal are well fancied to top the section, but it looks competitive in behind and it will be interesting to see how things play out.
We have a selection in both matches to form a double, which pays out at 13/2.
Tip 1: Turkey Vs Georgia - Turkey & over 2.5 goals @ 15/8
Consistency isn’t the name of Turkey’s game, but the Crescent Stars look capable of making their mark in Germany.
Vincenzo Montella is a useful manager and he led Turkey through a strong qualifying campaign that saw them finish top ahead of Croatia.
Clearly, there have been some disappointing friendly results since those qualification contests, but the form of non-competitive matches is easy to ignore.
There is plenty of young talent in the squad, with Arda Guler, Kenan Yıldız and Bertug Yıldırım on the roster, and Montella’s men look value to edge a high-scoring clash with Georgia.
The Crusaders are a capable and committed side, which means keeping goals onside key, but Willy Sagnol’s men may lack the defensive solidity to keep a progressive Turkey outfit at bay.
Backing the Crescent Stars and over 2.5 goals in the game looks the best way to play the Dortmund clash.
Tip 2: Portugal v Czech Republic - Portugal + over 2.5 goals @ 21/20
Portugal cut one of the most likely tournament winners in Germany and they can put on a show against the Czech Republic.
Roberto Martinez has quality all over the pitch, with a roster containing Ruben Dias, Bruno Fernandes, Bernardo Silva, Rafael Leao and Goncalo Ramos.
A 37-year-old Cristiano Ronaldo is also part of the squad and it’s hard to see how the Czech Republic can resist Portugal’s talents.
Martinez’s men were a perfect 10 wins from 10 Euro 2024 qualifying matches, rattling in 36 goals in the process.
Clearly, the Czech Republic are a step up from much of the opposition Portugal faced in the qualifiers, but Ivan Hasek won only four matches in a weak qualifying section and the gap might not be quite as big as the prices anticipate.
There are many ways to side with what should be a comfortable Portugal success in Leipzig and backing over 2.5 goals looks the best of those options.
