Copa America Betting Tips & Predictions
Copa America Semi Final tips
Argentina are the reigning Copa America and world champions and the Albiceleste have more silverware in their sights this week.
It is semi-final time at the Copa America with Argentina facing Canada at the MetLife Stadium in New Jersey in the early hours of Wednesday morning, and that will be followed by the second semi-final between Uruguay and Colombia at the Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, North Carolina in the early hours of Thursday morning.
Argentina cruised through their group, but were taken to a penalty shootout against Ecuador on Friday, while Uruguay took the prize scalp of Brazil via penalties in their quarter-final on Sunday, and Colombia hammered Panama 5-0 to reach this stage and maintain their long unbeaten run.
Here we pick out the best bets for this week's semi-finals.
Tip 1 - Argentina & under 2.5 goals @ 41/50
Argentina eased into the knockout stage earning three wins without conceding a goal and only in the quarter-finals against Ecuador did they have to overcome any kind of resistance.
Ecuador's Kevin Rodriguez bagged a stoppage-time equaliser to stun the Albiceleste and drag the match into penalties with Aston Villa stopper Emi Martinez once again the hero making two tie-winning saves.
Prior to that, Argentina strolled past Canada, Chile and Peru and they now face the Canadians once more to seal their place in consecutive Copa finals, and a similar outcome is expected to that of their meeting just over two weeks ago.
It was 2-0 on that occasion and Argentina to win a match featuring fewer than three goals looks like a decent bet.
The pair have met only twice and it's 7-0 to Argentina on aggregate, and that showdown on matchday one in this tournament was a fairly one-sided affair. Canada managed just two shots on target and Lionel Scaloni's side remain a tough team to breach.
A comfortable passage into the Copa America final looks the best bet.
Tip 2 - Draw in Uruguay v Colombia @ 39/20
Four of the last five meetings between Uruguay and Colombia have ended all-square and this Copa America semi-final at the Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, North Carolina, could see the pair locked together once more at the end of 90 minutes.
Colombia have been the stars of the show in this tournament and they were ruthless in their 5-0 demolition of Panama in the quarter-finals.
Uruguay took the prize scalp of Brazil in their last-eight clash, but a more physical approach was needed to quell the Selecao before a penalty shootout decided matters.
Both sides have plenty of firepower and Uruguay have bagged nine goals in these finals, with Colombia going even better with their 11-goal haul across their four matches.
Things could be much tighter here, though, with a place in the final at stake, and with two of the last three meetings having finished 0-0, a similar outcome is envisaged this week.
A penalty shootout decider can't be ruled out but backing a draw looks a solid option.
