Premier League Darts - Night 7 Predictions

The Premier League Darts roadshow heads to Nottingham for Week 7 and there are four cracking quarter-finals to entertain the Motorpoint Arena crowd on Thursday night.

Luke Humphries picked up his first night win of the campaign in Brighton last week, when Cool Hand produced some incredible darts.

Luke Littler again fell at the semi-final stage, but the Nuke won on his debut on the European Tour last week and the 17-year-old will be looking for further glory in Nottingham.

Only seven points separate Michael van Gerwen at the top of the Premier League table and Nathan Aspinall in sixth place, so there is still all to play for as the eight best arrowsmiths in the PDC clash in the East Midlands.

Peter Wright to beat Gerwyn Price @ 17/10

Peter Wright is yet to collect a single point in this season’s Premier League but that may change when Snakebite takes on Gerwyn Price in Nottingham.

The Scot has endured a fairly miserable 12 months but there are signs that the two-time world champion is nearing a return to his best.

Wright lost 6-5 to Michael Smith in Brighton last week, following on from 6-4 defeats to Aspinall and 6-5 to Littler.

So Snakebite doesn't seem to be too far away from picking up a few points and he played extremely well in the UK Open at the start of the month.

Price has lost at the first hurdle in each of the last three weeks of the Premier League, winning just seven legs in the process.

The Iceman hasn’t been anywhere near his best in recent months and looks far too short in his night opener against Wright.

Luke Humphries -1.5 legs @ 7/10

Humphries showed why he is the world champion with a stunning victory in Brighton last week and Cool Hand could strike again in Nottingham.

The Newbury arrowsmith averaged 105.5, 113.7 and 101 in a masterful display at the Brighton Centre, where the 29-year-old defeated Thursday’s quarter-final opponent Michael Smith 6-3 in the final.

Bully Boy is clearly one of the best arrowsmiths around but he has been inconsistent and the St Helens man may struggle to keep up with a rampant Humphries.

Luke Littler to beat Michael van Gerwen @ 7/10

It’s not often that Van Gerwen doesn’t start a match as the favourite but MVG may have to play second fiddle, in terms of both the betting and performance, to Littler in Nottingham.

The Nuke was unstoppable on the European Tour earlier this week, lifting the trophy in his first event in the competition, and the 17-year-old continues to show no sign of nerves despite his age.

Littler is the hottest ticket in town at the moment and while Van Gerwen is not easily opposed, the 17-year-old is the rising force in darts.

Rob Cross v Nathan Aspinall over 5.5 180s @ 6/5

Rob Cross averaged 108 when losing 6-3 to an inspired Humphries in Brighton and a repeat of that level of performance should see Voltage get the better of Aspinall.

However, the Asp won in Exeter two weeks ago and there have been signs that the Stockport native isn't too far away from his peak.

Cross hit six 180s in nine legs against Humphries in Brighton and with the prospect of a closely-fought Nottingham quarter-final, backing over 5.5 180s looks the bet.
