Darts Premier League Night Six Betting Tips & Predictions
Premier League Darts heads to Brighton for Night Six and it has quickly developed into a closely-fought and interesting event.
Michael van Gerwen has three weekly wins, but MVG’s performances have been far from dominant and the Green Machine failed to win a single contest in Exeter last time out.
Nathan Aspinall and Michael Smith are the two other arrowsmiths to have taken maximum points, but the likes of Luke Littler, Luke Humphries and Rob Cross can consider themselves extremely unfortunate not to have claimed a nightly title.
Luke Humphries v Gerwyn Price - Luke Humphries -1.5 legs @ 27/25
Humphries was beaten in a deciding leg by Dimitri van den Bergh in the final of the UK Open on Sunday and it will be interesting to see if there is a hangover from that loss.
That does look the only worry when the in-form Cool Hand Luke meets Gerwyn Price in the Premier League on Thursday.
The Newbury man averaged 103.35 when losing 6-5 to Aspinall in Exeter last week and Price could muster only a 90.73 average in a 6-1 hammering to Cross.
The Iceman hasn’t been anywhere near his best in recent weeks, the Markham man has lost three of his last four Premier League quarter-finals and another could follow in Brighton.
Rob Cross v Michael van Gerwen - Cross to Win @ 5/4
Van Gerwen has three Premier League nightly titles on his record this season, but that paints a rather rosy picture of MVG’s performances.
The Green Machine averaged nearly eight points fewer against Humphries in the Glasgow final, he was below the numbers of Aspinall when winning the Newcastle showdown and the Dutchman was out-of-sorts when losing to Mensur Suljovic in the fourth round of the UK Open last week.
Cross played extremely well at Minehead over the weekend, he has been a consistent performer in this season’s Premier League and 5/4 looks a generous offer.
Nathan Apsinall v Luke Littler - Littler to beat Aspinall @ 13/25
It’s a wonder that Littler has failed to take a Premier League crown this season, with four of the Nuke’s five defeats coming by a 6-5 scoreline.
The 17-year-old produced another astonishing display in defeat to Damon Heta at the UK Open and a Premier League title can’t be far away for Littler.
Aspinall is a respected opponent, but we may be yet to see the ceiling of the Nuke's ability and the teenage star looks a Brighton banker.
Michael Smith v Peter Wright - Peter Wright to Win @ 27/20
There were clear signs of a revival for Peter Wright at the UK Open, where Snakebite averaged 101.56 in a 10-1 defeat of Andrew Gilding, before falling in a last-16 deciding leg against Stephen Bunting.
Smith was beaten by Luke Woodhouse in the fifth round in Minehead and there hasn’t been enough in Bully Boy’s recent performances to want to side with the St Helens man in Brighton.
