Premier League Darts - Night Four Tips

Premier League darts rolls on to Exeter for Night 4, and Luke Humphries will be looking to pull clear at the top of the table.

Cool Hand Luke has already collected 10 points from the opening three nights and the former world champion gets Week 4 underway with a quarter-final clash against Gerwyn Price.

We have a bet in each of Thursday’s last-eight showdowns.

Bet 1: Michael van Gerwen -1.5 legs v Rob Cross @ 7/10

Michael van Gerwen was beaten 6-3 by Nathan Aspinall in the semi-finals in Dublin last week, but MVG has been performing at a high level and the Dutchman hasn’t got the results his efforts deserve.

Mighty Mike has averaged 105.91, 101.51, 109.16, 98.52, 98.96 and 93.21 in his six matches in this year’s Premier League and the Green Machine really should have collected more than six points.

Rob Cross has won only one match in this season’s competition and a 90.42 average in a 6-3 defeat to Aspinall last week won’t worry MVG.

Take van Gerwen to give Voltage a 1.5-leg start and a beating.

Bet 2: Luke Humphries -1.5 sets v Gerwyn Price @ 49/50

Gerwyn Price downed Luke Humphries 6-3 in Dublin last week, but Cool Hand Luke beat the Iceman 6-4 in the semi-finals of Week 2 in Glasgow.

Thursday night’s Exeter quarter-final sets up the decider and Humphries is fancied to get the job done.

The former world champion has been the standout performer in the opening three weeks of Premier League action and the Newbury arrowsmith also lifted the World Masters crown away from the league competition.

Cool Hand Luke is a shade of odds-on giving the Iceman a 1.5-leg start for an improved price.

Bet 3: Chris Dobey to beat Nathan Aspinall @ 10/13

Chris Dobey has collected three points from his opening three nights of Premier League action, but Hollywood can be expected to improve as he settles into the competition.

Away from the league the Bedlington boy has already opened his Players Championship account and Dobey continues to be one of the most progressive performers on tour.

Premier League averages of 97.87, 92.69, 96.88, 97.57 and 96.99 are pretty solid and Dobey has the consistency and peak game to beat Nathan Aspinall.

Bet 4: Luke Littler -2.5 legs v Stephen Bunting @ 9/10

Stephen Bunting is yet to collect a win in this season’s Premier League, and that’s unlikely to change when the Bullet takes on Luke Littler in Newcastle.

The Merseyside man has been beaten by Rob Cross, Michael van Gerwen and Luke Humphries in his three quarter-finals in this year’s competition and each one of that trio has covered the handicap against Bunting.

Littler has averaged 99.78, 101.03, 104.02, 104.59 and 113.91 in his five matches in this season’s competition and a repeat of those numbers should be enough to dodge the Bullet.
