Premier League Darts - Night 13, Liverpool tips
The Premier League rolls into Liverpool as it approaches the business end of the campaign, with just four nights left before the playoffs.
Here we pick out the best bets for what should be a night filled with drama on Night 13 from the M&S Bank Arena.
Tip 1 – Gerwyn Price +1.5 legs on handicap v Luke Littler @ 7/10
Luke Littler has continued his meteoric rise in recent months and he sits level with Luke Humphries at the top of this year's Premier League table with 24 points.
In Liverpool he faces Gerwyn Price, who has failed to live up to his own high standards this season in a competition he was runner up in last year.
However, Littler will not get the heroes welcome he did in Manchester and Price could thrive in a tribal environment.
Four of Littler's last seven games have gone to a deciding leg so take the Iceman with a 1.5-leg headstart in a match that looks set to be tight.
Tip 2 – Luke Humphries to beat Nathan Aspinall @ 21/50
No player has won more games in this year’s Premier League than Luke Humhpries, who has come out on top in 15 of his 24 contests.
The world number one was beaten by Nathan Aspinall in Rotterdam last week but can get immediate revenge with a victory in this one.
Tip 3 – Michael van Gerwen -3.5 legs on handicap v Peter Wright @ 8/5
Peter Wright has been a shadow of his former self this season, sitting bottom of the Premier League and losing his last eight games in a row.
The former world champion has only won two of his 14 matches in this competition and looks likely to depart early again.
Four of Michael van Gerwen's last five wins over this opponent have been by at least four legs and MVG is fancied to overcome a 3.5-leg deficit on the handicap.
Tip 4 – Rob Cross to beat Michael Smith @ 49/50
Rob Cross has shown signs of improvement this season and is fancied to get the better of Michael Smith in his curtain-raiser.
Voltage got the better of Luke Humphries in the weekend’s European Tour event and has won four of the last six meetings between him and Bully Boy. Side with Cross to edge this.
Tip 5 – Michael van Gerwen to win the night @ 11/4
Michael van Gerwen has had a boom or bust kind of year in the Premier League, winning more nights than any other player, while only Peter Wright has lost more first round ties than MvG.
The Dutchman faces Snakebite in his opener in Liverpool and that should be a formality given Wright’s recent form.
The Green Machine will then face the winner of Smith’s clash with Cross and is likely to go off as a big favourite against either player.
With a relatively straightforward run to the final, it’s worth taking Van Gerwen to win his fifth night of the campaign.
