Premier League Darts - Night 10 Predictions & tips
The Premier League heads to Manchester for Night 10, and there is plenty to play for at the AO Arena.
Luke Littler has opened a six-point gap on Luke Humphries at the top of the table, and Cool Hand Luke is, in turn, five points clear of Gerwyn Price in third spot.
However, Stephen Bunting’s victory in Berlin last week means there are only 10 points separating Price in third place and the Bullet at the bottom of the table. In Week 10 there is another heap of points up for grabs to potentially shake up the standings.
Chris Dobey v Michael van Gerwen
Chris Dobey and Michael van Gerwen get the Manchester quarter-finals underway, and rather than taking a punt on the match markets, the better play could be to back Hollywood to win the week.
The Bedlington arrowsmith played well to beat Littler at the last-eight stage in Berlin last Thursday, before falling 6-2 to Price in the semi-finals.
However, Hollywood averaged 96.94 to the Iceman’s 92.42 in Germany and that can certainly be viewed as an unfortunate defeat.
Price, Littler, Humphries and a resurgent Bunting have all been housed in the bottom half of the Manchester draw, and that looks to leave that path clear for an each-way bet on Dobey winning Night 10.
Nathan Aspinall v Rob Cross
Nathan Aspinall reached another European Tour final in Germany last week, but the Asp has only one win in the last four nights of Premier League action, and could struggle against Rob Cross.
Voltage has been playing some excellent darts and he could well have had more points on the board had draws been kinder to the Kent arrowsmith.
Cross’ last four Premier League defeats have come in one contest with Humphries and three matches against Littler, and Voltage will no doubt be pleased to have avoided the Lukes in Manchester.
Rob Cross to beat Nathan Aspinall @ 7/10
Luke Littler v Gerwyn Price
Gerwyn Price has won his two matches against Luke Littler in this season’s Premier League, and the Iceman looks a bet to make it three on the bounce in Manchester.
The Welshman was in superb form when averaging 105.24 in a 6-5 defeat to Nathan Aspinall on the Euro Tour at the weekend and there are no doubts about Price producing his best against the world champion.
Clearly, Littler is a fantastic performer, but the Nuke was well short of his best when losing 6-2 to Chris Dobey in Berlin last Thursday and could be vulnerable again.
Gerwyn Price to beat Luke Littler @ 49/20
Luke Humphries v Stephen Bunting
Luke Humphries has been struggling to reach his peak, and the former world champion has offered fatigue as a reason.
Cool Hand Luke was in action on the Euro Tour last weekend and there is no let-up in the Newbury arrowsmith’s schedule.
Stephen Bunting took the Berlin crown on Night 9, and the Bullet followed up by winning last week’s International Darts Open.
The Merseyside man is a resurgent arrowsmith, and he is fancied to upset Humphries.
Stephen Bunting to beat Luke Humphries @ 29/20
