Oleksandr Usyk Vs Daniel Dubois
Usyk Vs Dubois Betting Tips
The first heavyweight title fight of the year is finally upon us and the spotlight will soon be on Stadion Wroclaw as Oleksandr Usyk defends his IBF, IBO, WBA "Super" and WBO titles against Daniel Dubois this weekend.
The Ukrainian has not fought since August 2022, when he beat Anthony Joshua for a second time to retain his world titles.
The former undisputed cruiserweight world champion had hoped to fight Tyson Fury in a unification contest earlier this summer, but he now needs to get past Dubois to confirm his status as one of the world's best fighters.
Tip 1: Over 7.5 Rounds @ 17/20
The odds firmly point to a one-sided victory this weekend, and it is easy to see why. Usyk may have had only 20 fights as a professional, but he has won them all, winning 13 of them by knockout.
Usyk's superior skill set and boxing IQ has helped him breeze through the professional ranks, and he has rarely been troubled at either cruiserweight or heavyweight.
He is known for his unique style, both in and out of the ring, and Dubois will no doubt struggle to adjust at times.
However, Dubois comes into this fight with very little expectation, something he has yet to have in his career.
Dubois, 25, is the fresher fighter and has plenty of speed, and 18 of his 19 wins have come inside the distance.
After such a long absence, Usyk will not be rushing into anything, and Dubois cannot afford to get reckless. We expect a slow start to the fight before things heat up in the second half of the contest.
Tip 2: Oleksandr Usyk to win in Rounds 7-12 @ 7/4
Dubois and his team believe the timing is perfect for him, with some suggestions that Usyk is past his best.
The Ukrainian was unscathed against Anthony Joshua, but Dubois does have the faster hands. AJ struggled to close the distance and was very shy with his punches, and if Dubois hesitates, he will be in trouble.
Dubois' comments are just an opinion, though, and Usyk's recent performances are still at a high level. Pundits and experts say Dubois has the power to stop Usyk, and that is no lie, but there is no guarantee he even lands a clean punch.
Usyk is a master of the defensive side of boxing, and he will be able to invite pressure, land shots, and then move out of range. Over time, that will wear Dubois down, and the Brit will do well to see the final bell.
Dubois has been stopped before by Joe Joyce, and at 25, his team may save him for another day if he is struggling to have any success against Usyk.
