Chisora vs Wallin Betting Tips
Derek Chisora will contest his 49th, and potentially final, professional fight against Otto Wallin in Manchester on Saturday night and War will be hoping for a victory in his Last Dance.
The 41-year-old is 9/5 to see off Wallin and, while Chisora has enjoyed a lucrative and entertaining career, it may not be a happy ending for the Finchley fighter.
Otto Wallin to win by stoppage @ 13/10
Chisora has shared the ring with some of the biggest names in the heavyweight division, past and present, but War has often fallen short.
The 41-year-old has battled with Tyson Fury on three occasions, there have also been bouts against David Haye, Vitali Klitschko, Oleksandr Usyk, Agit Kabayel and Joe Joyce.
Chisora has taken on Joseph Parker on two occasions, has fought Dillian Whyte twice, and the Finchley fighter twice shared the ring with Kubrat Pulev.
That’s a seriously impressive list of fighters, but the trouble is Chisora has lost 13 of his 48 professional contests and, even when Del Boy has grabbed a win, it has generally come from a gruelling and intense contest.
The Londoner has taken on Oleksandr Usyk, Parker twice, Pulev, Fury, Gerald Washington and Joyce in his last seven bouts.
War lost four of those contests and the 41-year-old was on the end of a lot of punishment from Fury, Usyk and Parker.
The Finchley fighter was certainly game and committed in those bouts, but they came against elite-level heavyweights, and Chisora’s desire to close the gap and land shots on his opponents led him to take plenty of punishment.
Chisora did pick up a big win against Joyce last time out, and he can be given a chance on Saturday night on that form, but that was another tough battle and time has continued to tick since that July bout.
War has to give seven years to Wallin on Saturday night and the Swede has far fewer miles on the clock.
The 34-year-old has won 27 of his 29 professional contests and the only two defeats came against the elite pair of Fury and Anthony Joshua.
Wallin’s victories over Dominic Breazeale and Murat Gassiev read pretty well in the context of a clash against a 41-year-old Chisora, and the Swede should still have more to give.
Wallin will enjoy considerable height and physical advantages in Manchester on Saturday night and that’s likely to make it difficult for Chisora to bring the inside battle which he craves.
The Swedish southpaw should be able to tag the Finchley fighter on the way in, keeping the fight at range and landing the scoring punches.
Wallin doesn’t possess huge one-punch power, and the output may not be enough to force a stoppage, so the 13/10 about the 34-year-old winning by decision looks like a play.
