Anthony Joshua Vs Daniel Dubois Tips
The IBF world heavyweight title is on the line on Saturday night as Daniel Dubois defends the belt against Anthony Joshua.
Dubois claimed the title on an interim basis by stopping Filip Hrgovic in his last bout but was then elevated to full champion as Oleksandr Usyk vacated.
Joshua is bidding to become a three-time heavyweight world champion and is fighting for a title for the first time since losing his rematch against Usyk in August 2022.
The all-British showdown is the headline event on a stacked card at Wembley, with Anthony Cacace and Josh Warrington clashing in a super featherweight title fight, while Joshua Buatsi, Hamzah Sheeraz and Josh Kelly are also in action.
Tip 1 - Anthony Joshua rounds 7-12 @ 27/20
Dubois may be the current IBF holder but Joshua goes into the bout as the clear favourite.
This should be no real surprise given AJ’s previous exploits and the strong performances he has put in since his second defeat to Usyk, a bout he perhaps came out of with some credit despite the loss as his performance was a marked improvement on his first defeat to the Ukrainian superstar.
Dubois has only lost two of his 23 fights and both of those losses have been stoppages.
Joshua’s last two wins have come inside the distance, and early, but Dubois is a level above the four opponents he has faced since his last defeat to Usyk.
There is a lot on the line for these two fighters, and that could lead to a cagey opening but as the bout progresses it seems more likely that Joshua will start to dominate as he is the more polished of the two.
Dubois is tough and durable and can take this into the latter half of the fight, but Joshua has far more experience and should be able to engineer a chance to finish it in the later rounds.
Tip 2 - Anthony Cacace to win by KO, TKO or DQ @ 7/4
Anthony Cacace produced a career-defining performance to upset the previously unbeaten Joe Cordina last time out, dominating with his superior power throughout before securing an eighth round knockout.
Josh Warrington represents a different test and the two-time former featherweight world champion will be looking to respond after being stopped by Leigh Wood last time out.
Warrington was in charge in that bout but a lapse in concentration proved devastating as he slipped to a seventh-round TKO loss.
If Cacace can replicate the display he put in against Cordina, he may have a bit too much for Warrington here. A prime Warrington would be the favourite but we haven’t seen the best version of the Leeds man in a while now, and Cacace can back up his win over Cordina with another eye-catching stoppage.
