The only venue that hosts more group 1 races is the Ascot Racecourse where Royal Ascot and British Champions Day host a plethora of action. Newmarket Racecourse Betting FAQs

What is the course like at Newmarket?

There are two courses at Newmarket, between April to May and September to October, the Rowley course is used - this is where the famous Rowley mile comes into play as a large number of events during this time are of that distance. This track also has a section known as 'the dip', which also features and uphill gradient, leading to horses becoming unbalanced and making the finish of a race particularly difficult for jockeys. For providing entertainment, Newmarket's Rowley Mile is one of the best racecourses in the United Kingdom.

The second course is the July course, which naturally is featured in the high summer of July with the Cesarewitch course and the Bunbury Mile, an eight furlong straight line with a steep downhill gradient, meaning the fastest horse finishes first in most scenarios here. This track can still be unpredictable, as one side of the track could be favourable to the other.
