Triumph Hurdle Betting
Originally created in 1939, this race has a great heritage, but it wasn't until 1968 that it became part of the Cheltenham Festival. The Triumph Hurdle has become a race for four-year-old novice runners, consisting of eight hurdles and a total distance of just over two miles.
As this includes some of the younger horses, you can typically find several prospects racing in the Triumph Hurdle.
In the earlier years of the competition, the Triumph Hurdle was won by Clair Soleil, who would go on to win the Champion Hurdle too. Although three other runners would do this, this was the first time it was achieved, returning to 1955.
One of the strongest performances from a runner in this race goes to Persian War. This runner achieved three consecutive wins, dominating the race from 1968 until 1970.
