Martin Pipe Handicap Hurdle Odds

The Martin Pipe Handicap Hurdle is one of the newest National Hunt Hurdle races at the Cheltenham Festival and is a Conditional Jockeys Handicap Hurdle for horses aged four years or older.

This race was created in 2009 and was won by Andytown in its inaugural race.

The race is named in honour of Martin Pipe who was a highly successful National Hunt trainer who retired in 2006. During his career, he was Champion Trainer fifteen times and holds 34 Cheltenham Festival victories.

However, when it comes to the race itself, very few have managed to find the success that Pipe had. Willie Mullins dominated the early rounds of racing with three wins in seven races.

The likes of Sir Des Champs, Don Poli, Champagne Classic and Galopin Des Champs have made their name at this race and have pushed on for success in other races.

As the final race of the Cheltenham Festival, it is important not to chase your losses as the race has proven to be incredibly unpredictable on occasion.
