Next West Bromwich Albion Manager Betting Odds
Many would regard West Brom as a yo-yo club but in the last two seasons they've finished mid-table in the Championship. You have to go back to 1999-2000 to the last time West Brom finished in a position lower than their last two seasons. However, West Brom look like a very good side under Carlos Corberan and it seems unlikely that the board would sack him but the idea that Corberan could be snapped up by a high-reputation club or a Premier League club if West Brom don't manage to get themselves promoted through the play-offs this year.
Carlos Corberan in-demand?
At the start of the season, nobody expected West Brom to finish the season in the play-offs of the Championship. Class shone through when Southampton eliminated them in the semi-finals but Carlos Coberan put himself in the spotlight with a great campaign.
English football fans had been exposed to Corberan in the past as he took over at Huddersfield Town back in 2020 and left after the 2021/22 season. The club finished 20th in his first season and 3rd in his second campaign before going back to fighting relegation when he left.
The Spaniard left for Olympiacos, who had just lost out in the Champions League 1-5 to Maccabi Haifa and ultimately was given next to no time to succeed as was sacked after 47 days, winning two games, drawing 6 and losing three. The club drew all four qualifying games for the Europa League but progressed. However, defeats in the Europa League to Nantes and Freiburg, followed by a defeat in the league to Aris saw Corberan sacked.
It wouldn't surprise many if the current West Brom manager was snapped up by a team in a top division, West Brom play good football but they definitely over-performed last season, West Brom must back the Spanish coach if they want to keep him.
