Eredivisie Betting Odds

The Eredivisie is the top league in Dutch Football with the top teams in the league gaining access to European competitions such as the Champions League and the Europa League. Eredivisie betting contains a wide range of markets, including outright selections such as the winner, who gets relegated and who finishes in the European places in the division. Ajax and PSV Eindhoven are the top teams in the division but the likes of AZ Alkmaar have caused shocks over the course of the last decade, clubs are unlikely to finish above Ajax & PSV betting so when you check the Eredivisie betting odds, you'll likely find high odds for the likes of Feyenoord to pull off an upset like they did under Arne Slot last season. These two teams have dominated the domestic trophies in the Netherlands and have occasionally found glory in European competition.

Betting on the Eredivisie

Current holders, PSV, will be looking to retain their crown having won the 2023/24 Eredivisie title. The title holders will be welcomed by returning sides; Heracles and PEC Zwolle who have all been promoted after a short absence from the top division. Ranking as the highest level of professional Dutch football, the Eredivisie is considered one of the most prestigious leagues in Europe so we can expect some thrilling football from both proven and upcoming talent.

Eredivisie Winner Odds

Will Ajax manage to win another title in the coming season coming off a difficult campaign last time out. PSV Eindhoven missed out on the league title by a seven points last season so they will be eager to start the new season in fine form with the hope of securing their 25th Eredivisie title. However, current holders Feyenoord have gone from strength to strength and only look to be getting better under Arne Slot.

Eredivisie FAQs

What is the Eredivisie?

Ranked as the seventh-best league in Europe by UEFA, the Eredivisie is the top-tier of professional football in the Netherlands and includes 18 teams from across the country. After each team has played each other at home and away, the champion will be decided, as well as two teams to be relegated to the second-tier of Dutch league football. The champion and runner-up of the league below will be automatically promoted to the Eredivisie. Clubs finishing third from the bottom of the table will be placed into a play-off with six of the highest placed teams in the league below, deciding who will be promoted or relegated.

When will the Eredivisie start?

The Dutch Eredivisie is set to start in August 2023 and will run until May 2024.

How many games are played in the Eredivisie?

Each team will play each other twice throughout the season both home and away, resulting in all teams playing a total of 34 games each. After the season has finished, a set of play-off fixtures will follow including third from bottom in the Eredivisie and the six highest-placed teams from the league below. These promotion/relegation play-off fixtures will decide who secures the third place in the following season’s Eredivisie.

Betting on the Eredivisie top scorer

With Bet UK, you can bet outright on who will score the most goals in the Eredivisie when the season comes to a close in May 2024. Last season we had a unique winner of the Eredivisie in Utrecht's Anastasios Douvikas who finished just one goal ahead of Xavi Simons from PSV. If Simons stays, you could back him to finish as the top goalscorer next season.

How does the relegation system in Eredivisie work?

The bottom two teams in the Eredivisie league will be relegated to the Eerste Divisie with the team that sits in 3rd bottom going into the relegation play-offs against teams in the Eerste Divisie. Last season, Almere City finished in third place, beat FC Eindhoven and VVV Venlo before beating Eredivisie side Emmen to ensure their promotion.
