Premier League Matchday 36 betting tips

The Premier League season is nearing its conclusion and this weekend’s games will go a long way to determining final positions.

Title chasers Arsenal are looking to set the tone for the weekend in the 12.30pm Saturday kick-off at home to Bournemouth, while Manchester City host Wolves in the 5.30pm fixture.

There are a number of other intriguing clashes across Saturday and Sunday and we have picked out the best bets for the weekend’s Premier League action.

Tip 1 – Burnley-draw double chance v Newcastle @ 3/4

There will be an intensity at Turf Moor on Saturday afternoon as Burnley attempt to gain crucial points in their quest for Premier League survival. Three points would be incredible, while a draw would keep the Clarets within striking distance of 17th-placed Nottingham Forest.

The importance of this match for Burnley is impossible to overstate. Home fans will turn the ground into a cauldron and it is questionable how much stomach Newcastle will have for the fight.

The Burnley-draw double chance appears generous at a shade of odds-on given their upturn of form which has them lose just once in eight matches. Back the Clarets to earn at least a point against the Magpies.

Tip 2 – Over 4.5 goals in Man City v Wolves @ 6/4

Goals should flow when Manchester City host Wolves in the tea-time fixture. City are in the command of the title race if they keep winning games, so expect Pep Guardiola's men to be positive from the off, looking to get this game won as quickly as possible.

The embarrassment of riches that Guardiola has at his disposal in attacking areas means it is difficult to imagine the home side failing to get on the scoresheet. Erling Haaland is back to full fitness and set to terrorise Wolves, while Phil Foden may be returning from illness.

Backing there to be five goals or more could be the best tactic at odds-against, as Wolves are well capable of contributing to the total. Gary O’Neil’s men scored away at Arsenal this season and scored four at Chelsea, suggesting they could help bring up a high total at the Etihad.

Tip 3 – Under 2.5 goals in Brighton v Aston Villa @ 8/5

Sunday's fixture at the AmEx Stadium could be one of the dullest games of the weekend. Aston Villa know that a draw will be good enough to leave them in control of their European destiny. Villa look set to finish fourth in the table, which would deliver Champions League football next season.

Expect Villa to set up defensively at Brighton - a side which has scored just one goal in their last five games. Villa will have some tired legs from their Europa League Thursday-night gig, so setting up for a low-scoring draw seems a sensible tactic.

Tip 4 – Over 3.5 goals in Liverpool v Tottenham @ 4/7

Tottenham need to win at Anfield to keep their hopes alive of playing Champions League football next season, so attack-minded Spurs chief Ange Postecoglou should be typically gung-ho.

Liverpool need to win to keep alive their faint title hopes, so a ding-dong 90 minutes appears in store. Over 3.5 goals looks a rock-solid investment.
